Washington Oaks Gardens Park Palm Coast Florida
As you walk into Washington oaks preserve, the breathtaking views transport you back in time, evoking the feeling of stepping into the lavish gardens of The Great Gatsby. You can almost imagine guests in extravagant gowns strolling about. It feels like this place might have once hosted such grandeur. Now, it’s tucked away in a picturesque setting, surrounded by rose gardens reminiscent of Alice in Wonderland, with winding pathways and serene waterfront views perfect for watching sunsets.
Accessibility is excellent here. We found that using a jogger stroller for a full-sized adult was actually easier than a wheelchair, though both options worked well. We used both during our two visits.
The garden feels almost magical, like you’ve been there before, even though you know you haven’t. From the diverse plant life to the wildlife—rabbits, snakes, alligators, fish, turtles—we saw it all. Even a friendly squirrel came by to say hello.
This free park is a top pick for the Palm Coast area and is highly wheelchair-friendly. Restrooms are conveniently located near the entrance, and there are live plant sales, I believe, every weekend.
We truly enjoyed our experience and look forward to returning in the fall.
